The Normal Landing Gear Control Handle is a manual input device that the pilot operates to extend or retract the gear. When you move the handle, you’re sending a request to the hydraulic system to position the gear, but the work of moving the gear is done by hydraulic actuators powered by the aircraft’s hydraulic system. It isn’t driven by an electric motor acting on its own, nor is it commanded automatically by a maintenance computer, and it isn’t pneumatically powered.
